Dovie Thomason, internationally recognized Native-American storyteller will present aspects of the many-faceted Carlisle Indian School experience in her presentation at Messiah College November 19th. On New York City's Marathon Day, a look back at a 1911 Race...

From the New York Times, reminiscing on the winner of a 1911 race - Lewis Tewanima, the great Hopi runner. Tewanima was a student enrolled in the Carlisle Indian School. He, along with famous athlete, Jim Thorpe, went on to medal in the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm, Sweden.
