I have a distant relative, Catherine KENEGY(KANAGA), who is of Indian ancestry from the Carlisle area and she is buried in the "Olde Carlisle Burying Grounds".... Quite naturally, the Carlisle Indian School is located in the area. Is this area located near the Kanaga House near Carlisle, PA?

I am trying to find some information about this side of the family. We appreciate any help that you can offer.

Thank you.

The "Olde Carlisle Burying Grounds" is most likely the "Old Graveyard" located in the southeastern corner of the borough. Both the school and graveyard are located fewer than 10 miles west of the Kanaga House.

There's not likely to be a school connection to your relative since no students were enrolled from Carlisle, or Pennsylvania for that matter. All students came in from the agencies / reservations and there were none in PA.
